Project Manager / Construction Manager

Brief description of business:

Utilstra has been working in utilities infrastructure including Telecommunications, Power, Water, Gas and other utilities in Canberra and surrounding areas since 2006.

Working in a close knit team and reporting to the Delivery Manager of this role will see you involved in the preparation of management for company and projects at various stages. This is a role where you will be liaising with a wide variety of people including site personnel, team members and executive management. A team focus and the willingness to continually improve systems plus exercise initiative will see you excel with this employer of choice. This will be your passion for hard work and challenge.

Brief description of duties:

Assisting Management, Design, execution and Engineering;

Controlling Project Budget;

Creating project reports;

Manage clients and stakeholders and develop, implement the overall strategic framework of the project;

Project Reconciliation;

Meeting the client requirements;

Project Site Inspection/Audit in accordance with the schedule;

All associated Stakeholder Interaction;

Encourage innovative ideas for improvements from your team and assess the quality of the ideas and provide feedback

Attract, develop and retain talent to maintain a high performance team that is recognised for quality and thought leadership.

Be a contributing Team member and the overall success of the business whilst satisfying the clients’ needs

Manage Subcontractors;

Liaising with Project Engineer and Site Engineer;

Monitor WHS&E;

Co-operating with the Company to ensure compliance with the QMS, WHS & EMS; and

Specific work instructions, contractual obligations and any legislative requirements;

Skills and/or experience required:

Must have relevant qualifications Construction /or Business Administration

Must have strong communications skill

Must have experience in Construction Industry (utilities)

Good organisational and interpersonal skill

Ability to manage work in minimum supervision

Ability to manage team

Sound knowledge in WHS&E

An eye for detail and ability to identify cost saving areas
