Team Leader (Registered Nurse) – Medical Ward
Kareena Private Hospital is modern 144 bed facility servicing the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas. It is conveniently located directly opposite Sutherland Public Hospital and close to public transport. Kareena Private Hospital is an acute Medical/Surgical facility offering a comprehensive range of services including, Rehabilitation, an After Hours GP Medical Service, an Intensive Care Unit, as well as Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated health care professional to join a team of experienced, supportive and friendly staff in the 34 bed acute medical ward.
The ward specialises in the management of complex medical patients including, Geriatric, Respiratory and Rehabilitation. The ward is supported by a Discharge Planner and a designated Medical Registrar.
As the Team Leader you will support the Nurse Unit Manager in the operation of the department, ensuring achievement of excellence in care delivery in line with policies and procedures, best practice and legislative requirements. Provide leadership and support to all staff to ensure positive patient outcomes are achieved in line with departmental and Hospital strategic objectives.
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
Extensive clinical skills and experience within medical nursing
Demonstrated management and decision making skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
Ability to lead and manage the health care team in the absence of the Manager
Demonstrated ability to review, implement and evaluate Quality improvement programs
Post graduate qualification in management or working towards
Previous experience in a similar role
Sound computer skills in MS Office programs including Excel.
